Piggy Paints Swatches (Guest Nails)

Wednesday, September 4, 2013

Hi!

So, I'm still mostly sticking to the whole paint-your-nails-just-once-a-week thing so whenever I buy new polish that I really want to swatch I have to wait, forever...but this time I found a swatching victim-I-mean-volunteer!

This polish is interesting -- it's water-based, so it has almost no smell but it stays on like regular nail polish! (the brand is Piggy Paint, I'm not sure what the name of this color is)

My friend offered to let me swatch this polish on his nails (many thanks!! I mean, it was pretty cool of him) but it just didn't turn out so great:

Well, t sounds nice ("natural as mud!"), but I would never wear this polish. It applied terribly; it was horribly streaky (you can definitely see in the picture), and shown in the photo is three coats and it still wasn't opaque! Argh!

I guess I can't have my cake and eat it too. Sigh. At least I didn't waste money on this disappointment -- my friend lent it to me to swatch.

Have you ever tried polish that didn't have chemicals but still worked well? It seems like the closest thing is the 8-free polishes, but those are expensive...?

Thanks for reading!

The Nail Snail :)

P.S. This photo was taken with a phone camera -- it actually turned out better than expected!
