Small Snowmen [Guest Nails]

Tuesday, January 7, 2014

Hi!

I'm going to be very busy this week (some major flute auditions are coming up), so in an attempt to keep to my posting schedule I've pulled some things out of my unpublished folder to show you guys.

My sister wanted some winter nail art as well....

To quote my sister: "That snowman looks like it's winking, what a creepy man"

My sister's nails are tiny so this was quite a challenge. She's also very picky about colors and designs and symmetry. And painting other people's nails is just hard in general!

To do these, I started with a blue base and painted on the snowy ground. Then I used a dotting tool to add some falling snow and make the snowman's body. I added the details on the snowman with a small nail art brush. Lastly, I added a coat of Deborah Lippmann When Lightning Strikes to add a frosty sort of feel.

Have you guys ever tried painting kid-sized nails? It's really frustratingly difficult, right?

Thanks for reading & be sure to let me know what you think!

  1. I think this looks great, well done for working on such teeny nails! I love how soft and wintery this feels. I bet she loved it :) xx

  2. Cute! It is really hard to do designs on really small nails. It's the same way when I do my little sister's! :)

    1. Thanks! Yeah, I can't wait until her nails get bigger so I can do some serious nail art on them :D
